Veggie Stall @ The Arcade

I seldom have a chance to talk about food stalls at the Raffles place area since I do not work there. However, sometimes I would still make a special trip down from suntec for the delicious Veggie sweet potato porridge sold from this stall.

Mix Vegetables with Porridge $3.30 for 3 dishes

Its best to have this meal at lunch, as the porridge is still served hot, and all dishes are freshly cooked. Most of the braised dishes here are fantastic. However, my friends said the MSG used might me a little too much. The porridge is really good with Sweet Potato which helps digesting.
Vegetarian Bee Hoon $3.50

Bee Hoon is another choice if you are not a porridge lover. The Popiah is a MUST try!

Location: Arcade, at the end of first level

Opening Hours: Till 3-4PM daily. Closed on Public Holidays and Sundays

Mongkok Vegetarian (旺角素食) *UNDER RENOVATION*

Don't be mistaken, this food stall is not located in HK, but in Singapore itself. Sometimes as I would be working at the Singpost area, it is not easy to find good food around. However, Wang Jiao seems to have built a good reputation in this area.

This stall is rather special as they do not sell your normal fried bee hoon with the dishes available for you to choose from. This is a Tze Char stall where your food is cooked on the spot. Hence it does take a longer waiting time if the queue is long. One thing I like is, food is served piping hot!

Dumpling Bee Hoon Soup $3
What I like about the soup is it is tasty and not oily, added with the normal ingredients like vegetables, mushrooms and tofu. The dumpings are the frozen kind which can be easily found in the market.

Other than soupy dishes, this stall is well known for their hor fun. I have tried before, the ingredients include mock meats, mushrooms and veg. If you do not want to wait too long, all you need to do is to order the same dish as the person in front. Most prob they will cook together. heehee!

Location: Blk 14 Haig Road Food Centre, Center Column
Geylang Road
Opening Hours: Till 8pm

Cai Gen Xiang Vegetarian Cusine (菜根香素食) - *CLOSED*

Both Outlets are CLOSED. The Yishun one has been replaced by Zi Zai~

Thanks clare sis for the contribution.. guess I will never go there since I don't have a car... Anyway, finally there are some posts for good places in the Northen side of Singapore.
Here's Cai Gen Xiang Vegetarian Cusine. Not sure when it was opened, but the cafe looks clean and trendy.

Hot Plate Sambal Prawn SGD 7
This dish was fried with sambal, prawn and celery. Quite a spicy dish.

Sambal Kang Kong SGD 5
Sort of regretted ordering this as both dishes are hot.. Hence, it didn't bring much taste to our buds after trying the sambal prawns which were spicier. Still not too bad. A little bland and sambal chilli not as fantastic as Victoria Street (Yuan Xiang) Sambal chilli Kang Kong.

Fish Slice Soup SGD 4

Believed they use the same soup for their fish head bee hoon.Soup is mixed with carnation milk, 4 small slices of fish, small cubes of tofu and lots of chye sim. So if you are a vegan, i reckon you may request for non-milk soup. Overall taste still alright.

There are also catering services available from this cafe. I guess I would definitely try it if I do visit Yishun or Changi Airport some day. Thanks for your contribution sis!

Xue Hua Vegetarian (雪花素食摊)

The other day met up with Mr J for lunch at Eunos... As mentioned in my previous post, Eunos is one of the places where there are quite a lot of options available. This stall is the only stall available in the hawker centre next to the MRT station. I had Kuey Chap the other day.

Kuey Chap $2.50

Portion is quite big, but there isnt much ingredients, except for the kuey. The soup is clear and aint too oily. Worth a try if you don't like too oily food.

Location: Eunos Hawker Centre

Opening Hours: 8am - 2pm, 5pm - 8pm
